Surya’s 16th movie was Maayavi and the movie was released on March, 2005. The movie stars Surya, Jyothika while Vijaykanth and Roja does cameos. The film was directed by Singhampuli while the music was scored by Devi Sri Prasad. The movie received a big opening but didn’t made it big at Box Office and turned out to an average one.

Maayavi Movie Story:

Balaiah (Surya) is a fun-loving tourist guide, a prankster who roams around with friend Satyaraj (Sathyan), without a care. Petty thieving, the fellows are used to, but when they try to graduate to break-ins problems start. Their first attempt happens to be in Jyothika’s house (the actress plays herself) and their reckless daredevilry lands them in a soup. The humiliation and brute force at the police station make Balaiah kidnap Jyothika.
