Actor Surya won the best Tamil Film actor award at Mathrubhumi Amrita 2010 awards. Surya was named the best actor, for his performance in Aadhavan and Ayan. K.S. Ravikumar was also hosen as the best director for the movie Aadhavan.

National Award winning Priyadarshan’s Kanchivaram got the best Tamil film award while actress Shriya got the best tamil actress award for her role in Thoranai and Kanthaswamy.

Surya has got a good fan base in Kerala and the award just proves it.
