Surya’s 12th movie was Kaakha Kaakha and the movie was released on August 1st 2003. The movie went on to become one of the top five big Box Office hits of the year 2003 and also won 2 awards at 2004 Filmfare Awards South. This was a major milestone in Surya’s acting career, establishing a firm fan base and carving a niche for him in the Tamil film industry.
